Calling All Animal Lovers!

Hi Everyone! Things have been a bit crazy over here in my world lately. So much so that I'll post a blog about it ALL in the next few days... In the meantime I wanted to share information on another awesome fundraiser I'm doing, this time in support of the Animal Rescue League of Boston!

My very good friend Jillian Reig is running her first ever Boston Marathon to support the Animal Rescue League of Boston. I've known Jill for many years now. She started as one of my private clients but quickly turned into a wonderful friend. We both live in Charlestown with dogs (she has two!) and little boys. Jill is one of the hardest working women I know and when she told me that she was embarking on her first marathon. I wasn't the least bit surprised! Especially after she told me why she was doing it.

Jill is running in memory of her first foster dog, a pit bull named Penny and her childhood dog, a black lab named Quig. Currently her family has two two dogs, a chocolate lab Hunter and pit bull Piper, who are pictured above. How cute are they? Piper was a foster dog failure. She was hit by a car and dragged herself home. Her owners surrendered her and after surgery of a badly broken hip, she came to her forever home with Jill. Because of organizations like the ARL of Boston, more and more animals are getting a chance to find their loving forever homes.

Many of you know that I also have dog named Noelle. While she isn't a rescue, she is a huge part of our family. I've been a dog lover since I was little and it's important to me that I support organizations that help animals and give them a chance for a good life. These animals do not have voices of their own, so this is our chance to do something to help them! I'm so proud of Jill and her commitment to help the ARL of Boston. I'm honored that I too can help her journey to the marathon by holding this fundraiser. Let's be honest, you'll never catch me running the Boston Marathon. Ha!! However I have the utmost respect and admiration for everyone who does. Long winters of training, devotion, and strength are what makes our city's marathon so incredibly special. If you are a friend, student or animal lover I encourage you to join us for a special event next weekend!

On Saturday, March 19th from 11:30- 12:30pm I will be teaching a fun and festive Pilates Fusion class at Equinox on Franklin Street to help Jill raise money for the ARL of Boston. 100% of the proceeds will go to this organization. Class will be upbeat, a little sweaty and fun. (I'm crafting up some fun animal themed exercises - get excited!) Equinox provides the mats and all of the equipment. Tickets are $30. Simply sign up online to join us. You DO NOT need to be a member of Equinox to attend. Pre-registration is required.

Everyone who attends will get ONE FREE RAFFLE TICKET for our drawing at the end of the workout. If you would like to purchase a ticket(s) at the door they will be sold for $10 each, CASH ONLY.
