Meet Jennifer Phelan

Jennifer Phelan is the founder and creator of JPPilates, a thriving fitness community dedicated to helping clients move, feel, and live better through Pilates. Through her in-studio, outdoor, and online programs, Jennifer has spent more than two decades inspiring thousands of Bostonians to build strength, confidence, and connection through movement.

A comprehensively certified Power Pilates instructor, Jennifer is known for her high-energy teaching style, creative programming, and consistently sold-out classes. In 2022, she opened the first JPPilates studio in Charlestown, MA. As the community continued to grow, she expanded into a larger Main Street location in 2026, creating a welcoming space for private training, semi-private sessions, group classes, and her virtual membership platform, JPP Online.

For more than a decade, Jennifer has also led one of Boston's most beloved outdoor fitness communities at the historic Bunker Hill Monument. Each season, she teaches weekly outdoor Pilates classes and JPP Stroller Bootcamp, a signature program she designed to help moms stay active while spending time with their little ones.

Jennifer is also the creator of JPPilates Fusion, her signature workout that blends classical mat Pilates with athletic sequencing, energizing music, and full-body conditioning. Named "Best Exercise Class in Boston" by The Improper Bostonian, JPPilates Fusion has become known for delivering a challenging, results-driven workout that is accessible to a wide range of fitness levels.

Recognized for her impact on Boston's fitness community, BostInno named Jennifer one of its "50 Bostonians on Fire" for her innovative work and influence in the wellness space. Today, she remains one of Boston's most sought-after Pilates instructors, known not only for her expertise but also for the supportive community she has built around movement.

As a mother of two young boys, Jennifer understands the challenges of balancing wellness with the demands of everyday life. Her mission is to make feel-good movement accessible, effective, and enjoyable for every client. Whether someone is new to Pilates or has been practicing for years, Jennifer believes everyone deserves to feel strong, capable, and at home in their body.

GROUP CLASSES

Group classes are one of the most motivating and fun ways to workout. Nothing can replace the feeling of an in person community, set to music and movement.

Your body and mind will be challenged with Jennifer's high energy sequencing in a supportive and positive setting. Jennifer focuses on ensuring that every class consistently challenges her students to feel strong and empowered. Jennifer's teaching style consists of a powerful emphasis on form and alignment, ensuring her students are working in a mindful and safe way. As a result her students often feel stronger in a matter of just a few workouts. 

Jennifer's classes are more than just a set of core based exercises, they are an experience that leaves students motivated, inspired and coming back week after week for more.

IN-STUDIO

The JPP Studio is a private and nurturing space where you can work in person with Jennifer. Choose from a menu of private instruction, duet sessions (2 clients), semi-private sessions (10 -12 clients) or join a weekly drop-in studio class. JPP Studio is located at 67 Main Street in Charlestown, MA.
