Summer JPP Kids Class Reflections: Sponsored by MEFA’s U.Fund 529 College Investing Plan
Every single summer I always marvel at how quickly it flies by. We start off thinking we have all the time in the world and then poof, it’s over. I suppose you can say the same about childhood. One minute they are babies in our arms during sleepless nights and the next we are waking them up for school in the morning. I always think the future seems so far away, but as I’ve come deeper in my motherhood journey I have realized everything is just around the corner.
MEFA’s U.Fund 529 College Investing Plan recently sponsored one of my JPP Kids classes and let me tell you, it was quite the full circle moment. Running around were kids who were once babies in my Stroller Bootcamp. Next to them were new babies with their mamas pushing them in strollers.
And standing by my own side, helping to demonstrate like a little pro, was my own son, Max. I looked at him among a group of younger kids and was shocked to see he is now a big kid. How did this happen?
I’m still in denial that my youngest son, my “baby” is going off into the world on his own this fall. No, not college but to me it feels like it. He’s off to Pre-K which is full time school. For some reason this is spiraling me into a frenzy. I won’t be with him all day anymore, I won’t be coaxing him to eat his lunch and I won’t be there to remind him to play nicely. I know, I know, this is all part of growing up. But for this mama who loves control, I’ve been feeling like I NEED to do something.
